From the front, the Happy House doesn't look like much, but that's typical of colonial architecture. The unimpressive exterior conceals the wonders within. Inside, Casa Feliz is full of the comforts of home. With the huge courtyard, both onshore and offshore breezes cool the entire house.

While our wireless internet is not yet available, the stereo with mp3 adaptor is on a battery backup, so when the power goes away and the stars come out, we still have tunes for a few hours. There's also a guitar handy in the rec room, as well as a TV and DVD player that anyone can use.

If you like to cook, click here for a better description of our kitchen and culinary arts. The shared facility has gas fed stove, refrigerator, and a full complement of cookware and silverware. Bottled water, and many spices are stocked, and there's also the infamous blender...

The entire Happy House is cleaned daily by our maids, Denise and Tania, and they will even do your laundry for a small fee.

If there is one thing Nicaraguans know how to make, it's hammocks. Three enormous hammocks are available to lounge in at all times of the day and night (the fourth, beneath the mango tree, is arguably the best, but we have to bring it in when it rains). We've had people come here who just wanted to rent a hammock for the night!

If you want to get a better grip on your Spanish, Codo's cousin David Talabera (505-813-3772) of the Latin American Spanish School offers personalized lessons for $5 US/hour. If you are into more intensive study of Spanish, half day lessons are available, as well as home stays.

What we list here is just a small fraction of what Casa Feliz has to offer in addition to tours, trips and happy company, and we are improving the place every day. Our garden is shaping up nicely, in addition to the mango and banana trees, we just planted a rare apple-banana tree, which should yield fruit by next year. Do come by for a visit and see what we have to offer. Be Happy!
